What are Dividend Champions?

Years of increases

A Dividend Champion pays a solid dividend, has increased it for at least 5 consecutive years and funds it sustainably — from free cash flow or (for financials) from current earnings, with an average payout ratio below 100% over the last 3 years. In our portfolio, we target a yield of around 5%.

Cash flow over hope

Dividends are real cash flow. They can be reinvested, spent or deployed into new positions — regardless of day-to-day prices.

Compounding effect

When every distribution is reinvested, the position grows year after year — and so does the next dividend. Time is the strongest lever.
